Noel R.
Private tutor in Sheffield, United Kingdom
Education
PhD Applied Maths, University of Sheffield (2011) BSc (Hons) Physics with Astrophysics, University of Leicester (1987)
Experience
I have recently completed a PhD in Applied Maths, and wish to use some of my experience of the subject to help other students reach their potential. I have several years of experience of tutoring undergraduate students in maths at the University of Sheffield. These were mostly Fundamental and 1st year maths courses, at a similar standard to A-level. I am currently privately tutoring an A-level student. I can provide one-to-one or small group tuition in a relaxed, friendly environment tailored to the student's needs. My approach is mainly to establish areas of weakness in the student’s understanding, and try to help them overcome these by explaining the basic principles and working through example questions with them.
