Experience
I am a very keen linguist with great interest in the language and culture of other countries. I believe that languages are very important and open many doors throughout your life and that they should be accessible to everyone. For this reason I will be training to become a secondary school teacher for Modern Foreign Languages next year. My classroom experience to date includes secondary school placements where I have taught language lessons, lead small group and one-to-one sessions and assisted in lessons. Language Experience: During my gap year I worked as an Au Pair for a French speaking family in Belgium - this involved studying French at the local college, teaching the 3 young children English and also volunteering as a Scout leader. As part of my languages degree I completed 3 placements abroad, totalling 18 months. The first 6 months I spent on the ERASMUS study placement in Santander, Spain, studying alongside native students. I then spent a further 6 months working for Bosch in Madrid, Spain, followed by a final 6 months working for Harris Interactive in Paris, France. This immersion into the Belgian, Spanish and French way of life has given me fluency in both written and spoken French and Spanish as well as in-depth knowledge into the culture in both formal and informal environments.

Hobbies
I enjoy the outdoors - walking, rock climbing and cycling in the Peak District as well as running and swimming. I also love travelling, exploring new places and meeting new people.
